Jimmy Ahern joined Laidlaw & Company UK in 2010 and currently serves as an Owner and Managing Partner of the firm. With over 20 years of financial services experience on Wall Street, specializing in investment banking, capital markets, capital formation, and venture capital, Jimmy has played an instrumental role in shaping the firm’s growth.

As Head of Capital Markets for seven years, Jimmy was pivotal in building Laidlaw Capital Markets into a leading healthcare investment bank, recognized for its focus on quality and fundamental healthcare transactions. His leadership in this area contributed to over $12 billion in client transactions, strengthening the firm’s reputation for integrity and excellence.

Jimmy is also the Founder of Lucius Partners, the firm’s venture capital portfolio, where he focuses on investments in innovative healthcare companies. He serves on the boards of Algorithm Sciences, Aerwave Medical Technologies, and Voltron Therapeutics, guiding strategic investments in these cutting-edge ventures.

Beyond his professional work, Jimmy is deeply committed to giving back to the community. He serves on the Board of Overseers for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Massachusetts, is a member of the Board of Trustees at the Newman School in Boston, and is a member of the Board of Directorsof the New York City Renaissance. Additionally, Jimmy is a Philanthropic Partner to the Vaccine and Immunotherapy Center at Harvard Massachusetts General Hospital.
