Hugh ReganManager Management Companies
Hugh Regan is the head of Laidlaw Private Equity, LLC and also serves as Executive Director of Laidlaw & Company (UK) Ltd. He previously held the position of President & CEO at Laidlaw & Company (UK) Ltd., prior to which he served as Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Regan is also a Director of Laidlaw Holdings Ltd., the owner of Laidlaw & Company (UK) Ltd., and Laidlaw & Company International, Ltd., the firm’s FCA authorized affiliate.
Before joining Laidlaw, Mr. Regan served for 10 years as President and Chief Executive Officer of Auerbach, Pollak & Richardson, Inc, an investment banking and securities brokerage boutique. Before joining Auerbach, Mr. Regan was a founding member, a principle shareholder, Executive Vice-President and Director of Laidlaw Holdings, Inc. He is a graduate of Williams College, Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude where he was awarded the Benedict Prize for national achievement in Classics. Mr. Regan also attended Stanford University’s Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies in Rome and Columbia University’s Post-Graduate School of Special Studies.

Francis Ryan SmithSecretary, Management Companies
F. Ryan Smith joined Laidlaw in 2007 and is the Secretary for each of the SPV’s management entities. He has experience with due diligence, monitoring ongoing transactions, and corporate finance within all of the vehicles. F. Ryan is also Vice President, Investment Banking at Laidlaw & Company (UK) Ltd. He is responsible for assisting on all aspects of research, including preparation of materials and monitoring deal flow. He is a graduate of Bryant University with a major in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.
Ryan TurcotteTreasurer, Management Companies
Ryan Turcotte joined Laidlaw in 2008 and is the Treasurer for each of the SPV’s management entities. He has experience with due diligence, monitoring ongoing transactions, and corporate finance within all of the vehicles. Ryan is also Senior Associate, Investment Banking at Laidlaw & Company (UK) Ltd. He is responsible for assisting on all aspects of research, including preparation of materials and monitoring deal flow. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Economics.
Gail FanelliExecutive Assistant
Gail Fanelli serves in an administrative capacity for the firm’s Investment Banking and Capital Markets groups and as assistant to the Manager, Treasurer and Secretary of the various investments vehicles sponsored through the Laidlaw Private Equity ‘Private Shares Program’. Ms. Fanelli has been involved in the financial service sector for more than 20 years. Prior to taking on her current duties, she worked primarily in Compliance functions, focusing on regulatory and legal matters, registrations and dispute resolution. Before coming to Wall Street, Ms. Fanelli worked for many years in sales, purchasing and accounting for specialty books sellers. She is a native New Yorker who pursued her undergraduate studies at John Jay College, returning in later years to focus on paralegal services.
